Engineering Technician
The Town of Coventry is accepting applications for the position of Engineering Technician. The Engineering Technician provides support services to facilitate the wastewater portion of the Municipal Engineering Program. This is a mid-level career position that will be responsible for organizing the workflow, plan reviews, inspections, communications and coordination with the public, the Department of Planning and Development, the Department of Public Works, and the Town’s sewer program.
Successful applicant will have:
- High school diploma or equivalent,
- One (1) year of post-secondary college or technical training in engineering, biology, environmental science, chemistry or mechanical trade; two (2) years, preferred;
- One (1) year of experience or equivalent, operating and maintaining wastewater pumping stations;
- Must possess a RIDEM Class I Wastewater Operator’s License or obtain one within 12 months of hire; and
- Valid driver’s license.
Salary - $65,000 plus an excellent benefits package which includes Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Delta Dental, 2 weeks’ vacation, sick time, and 13 ½ holidays.
