AMENDMENT OF ZONING ORDINANCE AND MAP
Notice is given pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws 45-24-53 that a Public Hearing will be held in the Council Chambers, Town Hall, 1670 Flat River Road, Coventry, Rhode Island on Monday, June 8, 2020, at
7:00 p.m. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to consider the proposed ordinance to amend the Zoning Ordinance and the Official Zoning Map as summarized below:
Section 1. That in accordance with Rhode Island General Laws 45-24-51 as amended and Articles 5 and 18 of the Town of Coventry Zoning Ordinance and the Coventry Zoning Map referred to and incorporated therein is hereby amended to read as follows:
The property designated and described as Assessor’s Plat 50, Lots 11 and 23 currently zoned R-20 Zoning District is hereby rezoned in its entirety as Planned Development (PD) also referred to as Planned Unit Development (PUD) in accordance with conditions as described on Exhibit A.
Uses: 1. Construct 62 Single Story Condominium Units.
2. Said Condominium units to be serviced by public water and private OWTS.
3. No public services to be provided to the Condominium Units other than Police and Fire Protection. The Condominium Association shall be responsible for all trash removal, snow plowing and road repair.
Section 2. Any ordinance or parts thereof which are in conflict with this zoning ordinance and map are hereby repealed.
Section 3. The ordinance shall take effect upon its adoption. The Keeper of The Zoning Map is hereby authorized to make the adopted change to the map.
A complete copy of the amendment to the Zoning Ordinance may be examined and copied at cost in the Office of the Town Clerk, Town Hall, 1670 Flat River Road, Coventry, Rhode Island by appointment on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or on the Town’s website: http://www.coventryri.org. The proposed Ordinance Amendment may be altered or amended prior to the close of the public hearing without further advertising, as a result of further study or because of the views expressed at the public hearing. Any alteration or amendment will be presented for comment in the course of the hearing.
All persons interested in the above are respectfully requested to be present at that time and place to be heard thereon. This meeting may be a virtual meeting held via video or telephone conference or in person in the Council Chamber. Persons wishing to attend and/or participate shall consult the Agenda posted by the Town Council for information on the location of the meeting and/or links for remote participation. Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired must notify the Office of the Town Clerk at 822-9173, 72 hours in advance of the hearing date.
