Zone Change Assessor’s Plat 38, Lot 68 located at Arizona Street

    AMENDMENT OF ZONING ORDINANCE AND MAP


    Notice is given pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws 45-24-53 that a Public Hearing will be held by the Coventry Town Council, in the Council Chambers, Town Hall, 1670 Flat River Road, Coventry, Rhode Island, or by other electronic means as required for public safety as required by the State of Rhode Island or the Town of Coventry, including but not limited to a “zoom” meeting on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 7 pm. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to consider the proposed ordinance to amend the zoning ordinance and the office zoning map as summarized below:


    Section I: That in accordance with Rhode Island General Laws 45-24-51 as amended and Article 5 and 18 of the Town of Coventry Zoning Ordinance and the Coventry Zoning Map referred to and incorporated thereon is hereby amended to read as follows:
    The property designated as Assessor’s Plat 58, Lot 68 currently zoned R-20 Zoning District is hereby re-zoned in its entirety as GB General Business District in accordance with conditions to merge AP 38 Lot 68 with AP 38 Lot 67 for construction of a commercial storage building.


    Section II: Any ordinance or parts thereof which are in conflict with this zoning ordinance and map are hereby repealed.


    Section III: This ordinance shall take effect upon its adoption. The keeper of the zoning map is hereby authorized to make the adopted change to the map.
    A complete copy of the amendment to the Zoning Ordinance may be examined and copied at cost in the Office of the Town Clerk, Town Hall, 1670 Flat River Road, Coventry, Rhode Island on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or on the Town’s website: http://coventryri.org. The proposed Ordinance Amendment may be altered or amended prior to the close of the public hearing without further advertising, as a result of further study or because of the views expressed at the public hearing. Any alteration or amendment will be presented for comment in the course of the hearing.
    All persons interested in the above are respectfully requested to be present at that time and place to be heard thereon. Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired must notify the Office of the Town Clerk at 822-9173, 72 hours in advance of the hearing date.
