Town Ordinance creating the Office of Administrative Officer

    ORDINANCE CREATING THE OFFICE OF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

     

    Summary

     

                The Ordinance establishes the office of Administrative Officer. The office of Administrative Officer will serve an advisory role to assist the Town Council (“Council”) with the many diverse and unique challenges facing the Town. As such, the Administrative Officer will report to the Council in the manner in which the Council so directs. The Administrative Officer shall perform those functions, purposes, tasks, and directives that the Council requests. Lastly, the office of the Administrative Officer shall continue for the two-year term of the employment agreement executed with said Administrative Officer, and the office shall cease at the end of that term. Pursuant to Section 3.16 (c) of the Coventry Town Charter, the Council, by majority vote, may amend or otherwise act on the proposed Ordinance at the public hearing.

     

    If approved, this Ordinance will take effect upon passage.

     

    Notice is given pursuant to Section 3.16 (c) of the Coventry Town Charter that a Public Hearing will be held in the Council Chambers, Town Hall, 1670 Flat River Road, Coventry, Rhode Island on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 6:00 P.M.

     

    A copy of the proposed Ordinance may be obtained or examined and copied at the Town Clerk’s Office, Coventry Town Hall, 1670 Flat River Road, Coventry, RI 02816 or on the Town’s website:  http://www.coventryri.org.

               

    All persons interested in the above are respectfully requested to be present at that time and place to be heard thereon.  Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired must notify the Office of the Town Clerk at 822-9173, 72 hours in advance of the hearing date.  Devices for hearing impaired are available.
